New Venture

As I've mentioned before, I've been searching for ways to work from home. I've searched for jobs on the net but unfortunately most are scams.

Then, especially with setting up the Diva Bookshelf, I've noticed that a lot of new authors don't have websites whether because they don't know how or where to start or they just don't have time between family and work. I decided that I can do something I love and help them at the same time.

So, I started a service to help authors (or anyone) set up basic websites, blogs, and myspace. Get everything ready for them so they can get a jump start on their promoting. I then hand it all back to them or I can stay on to help them stay updated.

My goal is to keep it inexpensive yet give them a personalized, professional looking site.

So if you or you know someone who needs help...send them to

Slow Down Brain

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics

Ever have those days...weeks, months, years....when so much is going on in all aspects of your life that you just can't focus the brain on just one thing? I need to get this story finished but every time I finally sit down to work on it, my brain is too scattered on everything else.

**sigh** I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one and I bet at least 80% of you are mothers too LOL

I'm going to try to sit down for one hour. Take 5 deep breaths, set a timer for the hour and forget everything else and focus on one page at a time....let's see how far that will get me.

Update to come LOL.

If you've got a minute...I'm blogging over at Sweeter Romantic Notions today too.

Episode #37

Welcome to another episode of my gameshow here on the Sensibly Insane Channel. I'm your host, Stacy Dawn, and to tell you the truth, I need a kleenex to wipe up the drool. Have you seen the hunky guest spinner today? Whoa!

All the words dry up so hot is this boy!

Will the spinner burst into flames when he touches it? I know I would if he touched me **wink**

Guess we gotta take our chances. Go ahead, my firey hunk, and show us what you're made of!

It landed on wild and wicketd tattoos. Ooooh, wonder which lucky contestant will win them?

Are you all ready?

Here's your escape:

What's her story?

Give me two lines or give me twenty, it doesn't matter. Just open up and let yourself....

Thanks to a wonderful session of brainstorming on instant messenger yesterday with my critique partner, I believe I have found the missing piece of the puzzle!

Johanna...you rock!!
Okay, so now comes the fun part because half of the wip is written in third person and half is written in first person LOL. Once I put the new scenes in, I'll have to start the second edits by changing it all to third now that the hero has something to say...or should I say confess **wink**.
For those of you who played the "Where should they live" game a couple weeks ago, I'm still working out the setting and will announce the winner once I finish my research on the narrowed down cities.

I usually like puzzles, especially the kind I do with the kids because, well, they're easy. Okay, I never mastered the Rubik's cube and I've never liked the hard word puzzles or those jumble things...I suck at those. Which is probably why I've been having some problems with my current wip.

I thought it was an easy story...it isn't. I thought it wanted to be told in 1st person...it doesn't. I thought I had the order of events down...I don't. Worst of it is that I know I'm missing a piece--you know that one piece that was probably sucked up into the vaccum cleaner.

The good news is that I have the initial rough copy done. Now for the hard part--tearing it apart and fitting it back together the way it shows on the box-top in my head. I have a hunch I'm going to be on the livingroom floor this afternoon. While my son cuts and pastes shapes to his paper to create a childhood masterpiece, I'll be cutting and pasting my papers back together to create a manuscript.

We're hosting the Sweeter Romantic Notions Authors at the Romance Bistro today! Pop over for some fun and a chance for one of my Fun-Stuffed Envelopes.

Yep, you guessed it, I added more to the window display at the Diva Bookshelf. TBR pile getting low...go on over and browse the shelves!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! What better way to spend it then to have some wonderful views of who is important to you!

Here are some of the wonderful comment I received for my Who's the Apple of Your Eye contest. I must say, by the looks of it, the husbands won hands down!

At the end, I'll reveal the randomly drawn grand-prize winner of the Pink Strawberry Daiquiri Pedicure Set!

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics

I have quite a few people in my life that I consider the "apple of my eye".
First, there is my husband of 40 years -- he is still sexy, so I guess I will keep him around for another 40 years.
Then there are my 3 sons -- they are loving and considerate.
Last, but certainly not least, are the grandchildren -- what grandmother doesn't consider her grandchildren the "apple of her eye"?

Apple of my eye? My pooch, Coop. Twelve years later and I still think she's the best thing that ever happened to me.

The apple of my eye
Is a very special guy
That man that I married for 20 years
Makes me laugh and wipes away tears
He is the love of my life
I’m so happy I’m his wife
Beth Reimer

My husband and children are the apples of my eyes. My twin boys fill me with joy everyday and my husband gave me these angels so he rocks.

My two best friends - my husband and my son. (That's two and the same by the way, not four different people.) Just because.

My sweet is my niece(willow) and nephew(Logan) . I can't have kids but I love them with every piece of my heart.
Joan Raleigh

The apple of my eye is my man Mark. I love him to pieces. There are days when I just want to rip him to shreds and then he'll do something nice for me and I'll forget all about being upset w/ him. I especially love hearing his deep voice on the phone when were not together, it just drives me crazy. What can I say? lol
~ Kimberly

The apple of my eye is... myself.People shouldn't forget to be kind to themselves, too.

My daughters are the apples of my eye! They are my pride and joy!
But, ask my oldest daughter and she says that she's the apple of her grandma's eye! (My mom taught her to say that as soon as she could talk!)
~Jodi Shadden

The apple of my eye is my husband of almost 17 years...my Golden Delicious so to speak. We have a lot of the same interests but enough differences to keep things interesting. He supports me in the things I find important. He treats my 2 children from my first marriage as if they were his own. He is a great provider, lover, friend and companion and my life is all the richer having him as my partner for life
Jeanette J

My life is a garden, from which I grow my happiness,
Within my body lie the seeds for peace and joy.
And in this Universe, in which I live and cry,
Lives my love, my heart, and the apple of my eye.

To him I offer my tiny world, and gently hold his,
In his eyes are the light by which I find my paths.
And in his smile, a million stars burn bright,
Offering me comfort from the cold, hostile night.

His heart beats pure and steady and seeing the world through him
Life becomes a grand adventure, a joyful ride.
Colours fold into each other, brighter than the last
And every moment, dies the wounds and hurts from my past.

To he who loves me without limit, I give myself
To he who supports me without end, I give my dreams.
To a love that will never end, even when I die,
I give my all to him, the apple of my eye.

The apple of my eye is really a toss up, lol. I came out of a horrible marriage and put my now husband through Hell because I was so terrified of being hurt again. Finally, a year later, I married my now husband and we have a beautiful li'l boy. He's two now and so smart it's scary! So, I guess I have an apple for each eye, lol. One for saving my life and showing me that true love does still exist, and the other for coming into this world with smiles, laughter, and enough love to heal any wound on my heart.
~Faith Bicknell-Brown

The apple of my eye is my husband, whom I've been married to for 12 years. He's a huge inspiration to me and my biggest supporter. He believed in me when I thought for sure he doubted I'd ever be published (if that makes sense). We have a lot of things in common, but just enough not in common to drive each other crazy. Without him, I wouldn't be, well, halfway through my next work-in-progress, LOL. He's my best brainstorming partner and truly, the apple of my eye. Oh by the way, did I mention his eyes are the color of Granny Smith?
~Emma Sanders

Not to be redundant, but the apple of my eye is my hubby too. Although we've only been married for a year and a half or so, we dated for 11 1/2 before getting hitched, so we were high school sweethearts. He was there for me when my father got sick and later passed. He's always supported me no matter how nuts my notions. And when it seems the world is against me, he's always there to step in and prove I'm never alone and there's nothing we can't over come. I'm so blessed to have him in my life.

The apple of my is my daughter. She's so fun, so innocent, and just a reminder of what life is all about. Her cuddles are priceless. *Busting out singing Greatest Love of All*
Shelli Stevens

Hi, Thank you for having this great contest!
The apple of my eye is my husband. He is a wonderful father to our beautiful 3 children and my best friend. I am a stay at home mom and as soon as he walks in the door he takes care of the kids so I can take a much needed break. He helps me around the house if I need him too and he works long hard hours at work to take care of us. He is a wonderful man and I love him dearly. Thank you
~Beth Shepherd

And now, the winner of the Pink Strawberry Daiquiri Pedicure Set including terry cloth slippers is....Faith Bicknell-Brown!

Congratulations, Faith! An email with all the details is on the way.

There were so many more I couldn't fit on--
thank you to everyone who entered!
I've been busy stocking the shelves of the Diva Bookshelf. Pop on over and browse around!

It Never Fails...

If my children are going to get sick, it's between 12-12:30am.

Won't even go into detail but again, my fault in thinking we'd missed the big stomach bug going around the town...well, by the sounds of it all North America. myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics

Ugh, and then when everything is cleaned up I look up and sure enough 12:25am. You figure if it happens at 3 or 4, that's close enough to 5:30 our usual wake up time and you can make yourself believe you were getting up soon anyway. But at 12:30am...there's still a lot of night left to go and you know it isn't going to be pretty.

Poor guy, they look so much smaller when they are sick.

On a better note...Jenna is so cool!! This is from her blog...

Remember the days when all your Valentines gift giving could be taken care of with one box of twenty-four cartoon Valentines, complete with heart shaped suckers? If only life stayed so simple, and postage free.

I know I have friends and family I need to send cards to, but by the time I get organized enough to buy the cards, find my address book to get them where they need to be, and head off to the post office to mail them because I am out of stamps...it's May. It's embarassing to send a Valentine to people who get your birthday card to you on time.

This year, I am solving that problem. I'm sending my nearest and dearest e-book Rosettes from Wild Rose Press. They are so short even the e-book phobic can take the time to read them, and have a bit of romance to put a smile in their day. Not that I'd tell them, but Rosettes are cheaper than a card, and don't even require postage! Go on, spread the love!

For Best Friends...For Carpool Chicks

Welcome to another episode here on the Sensibly Insane Channel.

I'm your host, Stacy Dawn, and boy, let me tell you, it's been a wild week here at the studio.

Doesn't our hunky guest spinner look a little wild to you?

Mmmm, I don't know whether to growl or purrrrr.

Why don't we let him put those wild muscles to good use and spin our prize wheel? Let's see what one lucky contestant will win this week.

It landed on tattoos. Ooooh, wild and wicked!

Pass Along Tag

I was tagged by Lee...

The rules are: Once you have been tagged you cant be re tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird random things, facts, or habits about yourself. At the end, you chose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. Dont forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" on their profile and tell them to read your latest blog.

1. I love cows. I have them all over my kitchen and office--that's the picture on my desktop on my laptop--->

2. I hate housework

3. I don't drink except Cherry Brandy--never liked the taste of alcohol. My friends love that I'm the automatic DD.

4. I have one best friend taller than me and one shorter--considering my short stature, this is actually funny.

5. In my head I look like a supermodel. In reality, the mirror lies, I'm sure.

6. Though I complain about my husband's sportsaholic tendancies and the way they are rubbing off on my children--I wouldn't have it any other way.

7. I'm a stationary obsessive-compulsive shopper. The funkier the better

8. I don't like tomatoes yet I love Ketchup and eat spaghetti sauce and pizza.

9. I love having conversations about nothing...useless trivia at it's finest

10. After the first date with my husband, I called my friend and told her he was rather boring and I probably would never date him again. On the second date, I knew I was in love.

Wanna Make a Bet?

I just got the cover for my novel last night. How cool is this!

Wanna make a bet?

When aspiring artist and purposefully single Sophie Montgomery mutters those four fateful words, her sexy neighbor, Jay Coltrane, pounces on the opportunity to prove she’s not as immune to him as she thinks. Before she knows it, Sophie finds herself not only betting against a seduction, she’s betting against her own ability to keep her dreams intact and a certain luscious landscaper out of them.

I don't have a release date yet, hopefully this year, but I'll let you know as soon as I do. Oh, did I mention this one will be available in PRINT!!

I'm blogging over at Sweeter Romantic Notions Author Blog today too! Pop over and say hi!

Episode #35

Welcome once again to another episode of ESCAPE the Mondayn here on the Sensibly Insane channel. I'm your host, Stacy Dawn, and with the chill of the past week, I could use something to get a little heat moving in my system. It's been really cold so one sexy hunk might not do...so how about two...

Please welcome our hunky guest spinner for today, the Carlson Twins.

aHellooooo, boys!

aAnd since we're on the topic of two's...this will be a TWO DAY EPISODE while I take my musings over to Word Flirts on Tuesday.

How about you take those multiple sexy arms of yours and spin our prize wheel.

aYou got it, Stacy **said in unison with matching smiles**

aOh there now, the prize wheel landed on an evening gown...notepad that is. So now all your notes can look fab!

Okay, ready everyone?
