My Wacky Family

I love my family and this is just one of the reason's why...

This lovely lady is my grandmother, 91 years old. Every year we hold a big family birthday party for her, usually at my mom's house and this year she held a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville Party for Grandma. Everyone was asked to come dressed for the party and as you'll see, my family took it to heart. We love to have fun LOL

With our property being next to my parents, we helped out getting everything set up for the party including all sorts of fun events. My husband cut a mini putt course out at the bottom of our front yard. Here are all my men decked out for the party in their Hawaiian shirts and surfer dude outfits. And here's my cousin's little girl decked out her little girl in a grass skirt and lei playing mini putt. We grabbed whatever we could find from the house to make ramps and fun stuff for the game.

We set up Coconut Bowling and the Plunger toss. Here is my neice demostrating using water balloons but it was even funner because we set up for the couples to play--and my cousins who won got a bouquet of plungers as a trophie LOLOLOL.

Not to be outdone by the Hula Hoop contest. Do you remember how flexible you were when you were young? What happened to us??? I used to be able to hula hoop for a long time--not anymore LOL.

That cool dude there in the hat is my dad! My cousins proved we aren't as flexible as we used to be and my neice in the hula skirt was hula hoopin' the whole time while the rest of the adults took their turns LOL. Needless to say, she won the trophie. Of course my cousin in the funky shirt won for Wackiest Shirt LOL.

Grandma enjoyed the whole show!

Next came this trailor load of gifts---but wait, I bet you assumed they were all grandma's birthday presents. Haven't you had enough proof my family doesn't do ANYTHING the normal way LOL. Oh no, here, we have a family auction. Everyone choses something from their home they don't want anymore and wraps it up with a little clue in the form of a poem. Then, my dad and uncles start the auction. Yes, no one knows what's in the gifts but all the money raised goes into a gift bag for Grandma so no one cares how much they spend LOL. Oh, did I mention the tackier the better? For example, though I don't remember the exact poem but it had to do with sun, and a good time--my aunt outbid everyone for this.....hat LOL.

I was the photographer today so you don't see me in any but here's a quick snap I took of my festive attire LOL.

Overall it was a great time had by all! How mom is going to top this next year, I have no idea LOL.

Brewed

Okay, I got the paperwork so I'm thrilled to say I contracted my children's books with a new e-publisher!! And not just one but they want the series!!!

The first three have been contracted and I'm currently getting the next three ready for them. Now, these are near and dear to my heart and are aimed at children between the ages of 3-8. With the way e-publishing is taking off, I'm so glad someone finally took the younger generation into consideration.

Though I don't wish to give away to much of the series yet, you know I'll keep you posted!!

Somethin's Brewing

Oh boy, got some very interesting news on the weekend. 'Course don't have too many details just yet or that I want to leak at the moment but let's just say something is brewing!

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics And it's gonna be really cool!

What I can tell you is that my next short story comes releases on WEDNESDAY! As bad a blogger as I've been lately, I figured I'd put this up now LOL. Now, you want a hero naked in a tub then here's your story LOL...

Standoff at the Waterin’ Horse Saloon

Bridget Schneider has a few things to say to the cowboy who stole her heart over a year ago and never came back. Sneaking into the Waterin’ Horse Saloon to confront him, the last thing she expects to find is Jonas Decker immersed in a bathtub in all his God-given glory. Her righteous indignation evaporates in the steam and heat of his naked chest and flirtatious smile—but she’s not about to let her anger be hog-tied by sudden...distractions. Jonas might’ve stolen her heart, but she’s sure as shootin’ gonna get her pride back.

Disco Angel
by Stacy Dawn

Bobby Hues has his eye on the Disco Angel jiving around Electric Nights Roller Disco. But what would Miss Spring Break 1976 and the foxiest chick he’d ever laid eyes on want with a lowly grease monkey like himself?

Summer Benton’s heart started racing the minute she rolled her broken down ride into Bobby’s garage. When he gets a gig working at her favorite hang out, she thinks she has it made—but the quiet hunk still isn’t talking. A little push on her part starts the wheels rolling—in the wrong direction. Now she has to figure out how to lose the wrong guy, and convince the right one she digs him enough to be his Disco Angel, forever.

Playing Catch Up

Hope you all had a great holiday! I used the time to get my Christmas story finished and it is now on my editor's desk. It'll be a few weeks before I know anything so keep your fingers crossed please.

I haven't had much time to get on the web and only just now updated some of my links etc. since The Wild Rose Press changed their web-hosts. They've been growing so much they needed a new 'plot' to 'plant' in LOL. So I think I'm up to date there.

Hopefully by the end of the week I'll get caught up on everything else. I know the Diva Bookshelf needs a number of books added so stay tuned there as well!

I have to throw out a quick kudo's to my critique partner who just had her second story released. You can pop into her site at Johanna Melaragno to read all about Seeing Double.
