Happy Week!!

It's my birthday party week! I turn, **cough**, and want you all to celebrate with me.

I'm celebrating as Author of the Week on Candice Gilmer's blog

Having a party with Brieanna Robertson on her Myspace, http://myspace.com/brieannarobertson on Tuesday talking about the writing life and the Rights of Writers

Thursday partying with the bistro babes with Romance Bistro on Tour at Beth Wylde's Group Having a tour party with Romance Bistro on Tour

Oh, and here's some of the presents I already got:

I loved this short story. Stacy Dawn had me laughing from start to finish, and my only complaint is that this isn’t longer. I’d love to see what happens next between Bridget and Jonas. She’s a spirited woman who knows her own mind. He’s so darn handsome, even with his six-shooter off his hip that I would love to see these two after they leave the saloon. This is a charming slice of life that I know I’ll read again. Lively characters, vivid images and an amusing plot all make Standoff at the Waterin’ Horse Saloon a great read.

Wow. This is such a cute, funny story. Stacy Dawn has managed to pack the pages full of action, humor and intensity. I found myself laughing out loud in the first paragraph and I didn’t stop until the very last word!
Bridgit Schneider figures she's been jilted, so she stomps into the saloon determined to give the no-account a piece of her mind. What follows are eight hilarious, action-packed pages that will completely enchant you. Although short and sweet, this story introduces two dynamic characters who draw you into the drama and into their lives. I found myself thinking of these characters long after the story was finished. I’m giving it five books! Any story that can hook you in a few paragraphs, create friends within a few pages and leave its imprint on your mind after so short a time deserves the praise. This one does all that and more! I will be keeping my eyes open for more wonderful works by Ms. Dawn!

Sophie and Jay have problems and baggage to settle along the way which only makes this a more believable story with the ups and downs of the inner battles that they both have going on. This was a realistic, delightful read, with the added romance of Julia and Dan which only strengthened the story. I would give this a book rating of five, and urge you to go to Wild Rose Press and give this book a read.

Trying to Catch Up.

I have got to dig out some time to get things done so the first thing I did was start a new newsletter group. The other was giving me too much pain so, I appologize to those who have to resign up but it will be worth it, I swear--okay I hope LOL.

It's down there on the right side and I'll be holding special newsletter drives and anyone who joins will be entered in ALL my contests--and there's a good one coming up for Wanna Make A Bet? in October so sign up now so you don't miss it!

Bare Naked Funny

Okay, for those of you who don't know, these guys are a very popular Canadian band called the Barenaked Ladies.....songs you may recognize are If I had a Million Dollars, Be My Yoko-Ono, and Brian Wilson.

So, my husband and 6 year old son--both sports freaks--start watching tonight's Blue Jays baseball game and because it's a special dedication night to the families of 9/11, they brought the famous band in to do the National Anthems. So, the announcers says, "When we return, the Barenaked Ladies will be here to sing the National Anthems." A few commercials come and go and the announcers are back introducing the band.
Next thing I hear is my son's puzzled voice saying, "But they're not ladies or bare naked!"
ROFL! I swear I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard!!

Has it really been a week since I blogged last. Sheesh, time goes fast.

How're y'all making out with the school routines? This is the first year I have one going everyday. Hmm, can't plan things during the week anymore LOL.

Seems I'm doing a million things at once but nothing serious is getting done...know what I mean? Only one is my writing and that's a little itty bitty piece of time just like my promoing...gotta get a move on that again.

Other than that, things are good on the homestead, just a bit busy as I'm sure you all are. Sometimes I feel like I'd just like to hold my breath and float away for a little bit LOL....

Reviews...

Had some great reviews come into my inbox this weekend!!

Standoff at the Waterin' Horse Saloon
5 Angels from Fallen Angel Reviews!
Standoff at the Waterin’ Horse Saloon is laugh-out-loud funny and perfectly romantic. I smiled from the first word until the last. Bridget Schneider is a woman who doesn’t take lightly to having her affections played with. She learns that the man she loves, Jonas Decker, is at the Waterin’ Horse Saloon. Making friends with one of the girls who works in the saloon has gotten her inside the establishment. She storms into the private room where Jonas is to find him completely naked in the bathtub. With steely determination Bridget doesn’t let his unclothed state deter her from what she’s come to do—give him a piece of her mind for leaving her the way he did.

Wanna Make a Bet?

“Stacy Dawn, a master of short stories, has expanded her talent to create a sexier-than-sin hero and a sassy heroine in Wanna Make A Bet?. I was captivated from the first page, drawn into the roller-coaster ride of Jay and Sophie's romance, breathless from the first touch of Jay's hand. This story is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and in your heart.”
