In celebration of the opening of Firedrakes Weyr and the debut of my children's series, Adventures of Harriet, the Half-pint Holstein, I am holding a Cow Party here on my blog Thursday and Friday!
Now, I went and blew up my websites the other day (yeah, perfect timing I know LOL) but I have made a home for Harriet where you will find coloring pages and activities for the kids (of all ages *g*) and book information.
Firedrakes Weyr is holding celebrations on their site, message board, and yahoo group today plus a big Chat tonight....yup, I'll be there too.
As for my party.....you know me, the best part is giving things away!!! Leave a comment today or tomorrow and I will be doing random draws as well as one at the chat tonight, PLUS a grand prize drawing for the Cow Pack.
Here's what I have up for grabs!
There are cow pens, keychains, and magnets for the adult kids and I have a special Harriet bracelet and sticker set to give away for the younger children. So if you have a little one who would like a Harriet Bracelet, say so in the comments and I'll add you into that giveaway milk bucket LOL.
And one lucky party-goer will receive a Cow Pack including: cow pens, cow notebook, Harriet Keychain, stickers, and a four-pack of my origional design Cow Thank-Moo cards!

Not really (but how cool would that be LOL) but I guess I'm getting my fifteen minutes of fame this afternoon on a internet radio talk show to help promote the grand opening of Firedrakes Weyr and my new children's series The Adventures of Harriet, the Half-Pint Holstein.
Oh! I got the cover---what do you think?
Now, this afternoon should be fun because yesterday I woke up with an awful cold and my voice cracks like a twelve year old boy during puberty--not good. Also, if I'm not there, then I'm probably at the emergency room from a humilating spill during the family skate we're taking the boys to just before LOL--it's been YEARS since I've ice-skated, so I figure I'll probably be falling more than them LOL.
So, if you have some time this Sunday (Jan 27th) afternoon, come visit me on the radio at 3pm EST click on the radio above and follow link to listen to the Dragon's Den of PIVTR. Or you can follow the link on Firedrakes Weyr's website. (If all else fails, try the Listen Live and see what happens LOL--this is a first for me too)

Judith Rochelle, is one of our multipublished authors at The Wild Rose Press. In late summer, 2007 I approached her with an idea of a project that would enable RJ and me to give something back for all the wonderful things that had happened to us since we opened in May 2006. I wanted to find an organization that I felt everyone, everywhere would care about and really embrace. While many qualified, the one that kept coming back to my mind was St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
A few days later, Judith created a synopsis and a proposal for a book incorporating romance, suspense and St. Jude's. It took my breath away at what she'd come up with. Judith wrote the book, RJ and I edited it, and Kim Mendoza did the beautiful cover. None of us, including the publishing company, will receive any compensation; every penny will go to St. Jude's. Children's Hospital.
The result of this, is the amazing Crimson Rose book called "On the Run" by Judith Rochelle.
The book will be offered in both print and electronic format. The amount raised will be announced on our web site twice a year. The first report to be posted at the end of June 2008.
If you've purchased this book, thank you for your contribution to St. Jude's, if you haven't purchased it yet, I strongly encourage you to do so. The download is $5.00 and will go into a special fund to be donated to St. Jude's twice a year.
I've been very very blessed to have not only three very healthy sons, but cousins and nephews and nieces and children in my life who have been healthy and happy and strong. Sometimes we all have to take a reality check and realize that there are families out there truly suffering due to their children's long term illnesses. Maybe some of these children are in your family and circle of friends. St. Jude's is an amazing hospital in Memphis, TN that supports and helps families and children of long term illnesses.
If you would like more information on this project, you may contact Rhonda Penders at rpenders@thewildros epress.com. To learn more about the author, please visit www.judithrochelle.com. To see the amazing work St. Jude's does, please visit their web site at www.stjude.org
Thank you for your support of this important project.

The general rules I guess are to tell you seven unusual things about myself and then tag seven people, so here goes:
1. Well, now you all know that I dabble in art. It was always a hobby so never really told people.
2. My secret hope for this children's series is to have Harriet made into a stuffed animal--how cool would that be.
3. Hubby is home on holiday, both kids are in school today--you figure out the math if I'm not online a lot today *g*
4. Popcorn does not replace potatoe chips no matter how many topping you try to put on it
5. I am easily distracted and play in my own head a lot....I can easily miss a whole conversation if I'm having a better one with the characters in my head
6. I'm not a traveller. I like staying home.
7. Hubby is calling--I really need to get off......the computer
(bet you all thought I was a blushing sweet writer LOL--you ain't seen nothin' yet)
...but I'll have to let them know later...kinda busy right now *g*

This little lady is my baby and the heroine of my new children's series. I am so happy she found a home at Firedrake Weyr. I also found out some wonderful news this weekend...they have approved my artwork which means not only am I the author, but the Illustrator as well!!
Here's a bit of a preview:
The Adventures of Harriet the Half-pint Holstein follows the antics of a very small cow looking for excitement and adventure in the world around her. Harriet’s humorous escapades have her helping friends, meeting new ones, and learning that life is full of big and little triumphs. With friends like a hyperactive pig, a macho chick, and a group of inventive musical mouse brothers, The Adventures of Harriet, the Half-pint Holstein are sure to become a favorite with all ages!
In the first book, Harriet and the Musical Trio, Rosebud’s bell is missing. Harriet sets out to find it and prove to the grumpy cow sisters that ‘size has nothing to do with being useful’.
The series will be beginning very soon, tentatively set up to have a story come out every two months. You can bet I'll be back with a release date as soon as I have it!

(The Legacy of the Celtic Brooch 12)
Travel consultant Sarah Monroe’s sudden streak of bad luck continues when, after taking a baseball bat to her cheating fiancé’s truck, she discovers she’s trashed the wrong one. Worse, the real owner, sexy cowboy Harper Reed, witnesses her act of vengeful vandalism. The last thing she needs is her passport cancelled due to a criminal record—or to risk trusting another handsome man.
While Sarah worries if their shaky negotiation will hold up under her bad luck, Harper tries to find a way to prove that luck is not only in the eye of the beholder...but in the heart of a cowboy.
