Have you ever seen Dragon's Den or Shark Tank? My husband and I like to watch it but, at the same time, we sit back thinking: How do they do it?
How do these people come up with an idea that other people buy or buy into? Sure, not every idea is great or works but there are quite a few that do--but HOW do they do it.
Now, we're not in a position to put up $20K, 50K or even 100K like some of those people do (mortgaging the house twice for a product that might or might not work is waaaaaaaay to scarey a risk factor)
Still, wouldn't it be nice to find that one idea that took your family from paycheck to paycheck to a chance to get that new roof put on and maybe a nice vacation every other year or so?
Just dreaming today.....that's the nice thing about being a writer, we dream all the time, and we can actually make it come true on paper for someone even when our real life gets a little tough around the purse-strings LOL
Well, somehow the sky just opened up and a whole pile of pandas dropped down all at the same time! Not far off from what happened at work this week--replace pandas with documents and it's pretty close. Whomp!
Backed up again, but really, what else is new? The good part is that at some point during the day I always get to come home and leave it there LOL.
Writing wise, I've submitted the next story in my Noelle series and eagerly await a verdict from my editor. I also have a Valentine's story just waiting for the final crit from my critique partners before submission, which opens up the floor to a brand new story that has been sitting on the sea of creativity in my brain for the past couple months. I've written notes here and there and made a bulletin board on my computer--all the time just letting it stew, bubble and boil until it's just about ready to put a draft on paper. We'll see how it goes.
Did take time out to have a lovely Mother's Day though.....all of us, including the furry, four-footed child took a walk down at the beach. They were digging some of it up, I assume to get ready for the season later in June so their were mounds of sand dunes. How can you not go play in the sand when your children call you with their laughing giggles. Can't remember the last time I had that much fun goofing off!
